Technique learned without a purpose is merely a formula which when used, knocks the life out of any ideas to which it is applied.

Diversity is our watchword and we offer memberships to artists and art enthusiasts of all types. We welcome professionals, non-professionals, full-time college students and other arts supporters to our ranks.
We maintain connections to other nonprofit public benefit groups, such as schools, art festivals, other art associations and art museums.
One of our core educational programs is the Atelier, an on-going series of uninstructed, figurative drawing and painting workshops that take place four times a week. This results in more than 200 sessions a year. The fees for these workshops are on either a "drop-in" basis or by subscription in 3, 6, or 12 month increments.
These workshops are held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Tuesdays and 6:30 to 9:30 Tuesday evenings. Then Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 9:30, and Saturdays (usually) from 2 pm to 5:00. Additional workshop programs are planned as well.
We hold exhibitions six times per year, covering a variety of themes and mediums. We are continually adding to and expanding our demonstrations, lectures, reviews, art discussions and critiques. For more up-to-date information on our programs, please feel free to browse through our current list of newsletters (Spatter) and other pdf documents from the"Downloads/Spatter" menu on the left side of this Home Page.
On behalf of SoCal Artists, I hope you will consider membership in our association, joining many of your fellow artists and art lovers for what promises to be a fun and rewarding journey into the future of the arts.
